Thijs Postma - Poster - Messerschmitt Bf 110 Iraq - Metal Frame
EAN:
The latest painting by Thijs Postma, created in 2024.
The Bf 110 was a three-seat strategic fighter for escorting bombers and for combat missions at great distance. In practice, it became evident that the Bf 110 was inferior to single-engined fighters in the field of manoeuvrability.
During missions to England it had to be protected himself. As a night fighter the Bf 110 was successful later in the war.
The depicted Bf 110 C of ZG 76 was in May 1941 stationed at Athens for action over Iraq. The registrations and the German crosses, were painted over with Iranian colors.
