Try to imagine flying at night in this unique aircraft in a sky full of search lights and enemy bombers. This is the scene of the Heinkel He 219 Uhu (“Eagle-Owl”) flown by Werner Streib, who shot down 5 Halifax bombers over Dusseldorf on its first operational flight on June 11th, 1943. The Heinkel He 219 Uhu was developed later in the war and well armed and had a reasonably effective radar.
