See these two Hawker Hurricane Mk.IIBs of the Dutch Army in the Indies (KNIL) protecting the East Indies (nowadays Indonesia) against the Japanese.
On February 4, 1942 the British ship Athene carrying 29 Hurricane Mk.2 fighters arrived in Batavia. By February 15th all the aircraft were assembled. Seventeen were used by the RAF and twelve handed over to the Dutch. Only a handful took part in a few operations.
