The Vickers F.B.27 Vimy was developed as a heavy bomber towards the end of the First World War. On November 30th, 1917 a prototype made its maiden flight. The production types never saw action as it was delivered only towards the end of October 1918. It remained the only twin bomber in Britain during the early 1920s.
