Check out this Douglas P-70 Nighthawk fighter, which was used as an intruder against Japanese fighters at night.
To satisfy the need for a night fighter, the Douglas A-20 Havoc was modified with a radar in the nose compartment and four cannons under the fuselage. This Nighthawk of the 6th Night Fighter Squadron was stationed at Port Moresby, New Guinea.
