This gouache was originally painted in 1983 and is a dedication to the PH-AJU “Uiver". Here seen over the desert in a race to Melbourne. In 1934 the KLM won the handicap-race to Melbourne with the DC-2. The DC-2 only had capacity for 14 passengers and was operated by the KLM before the Second World War.
