Look at this Supermarine Spitfire F.Mk.14 shooting down a German Fieseler V-1 Flying Bomb.

This gouache is a tribute to F.Lt. Van Eendenburg. He was the Squadron Leader of the 322 Squadron of the Royal Netherlands Air Force. He flew in his plane with registration VL-B / serial NH700 in 1944.

The Mk.14 was a further development of the Supermarine Spitfire which became famous after the Battle of Britain in 1940. The Mk.XIV had the more powerful Griffon 65 engine with a two-stage supercharger which could deliver 2,050hp.

This reproduction is the month of April of the Artist 2024 Calendar.
