Get the first flight to Schiphol on your wall. The arrival was on May 17, 1920 at 12:40. The G-EALU was rented from Aircraft Transport & Travel by KLM and this Airco DH.16 was flown by pilot H. "Jerrry" Shaw.

On board there were two British journalists, a stack of newspapers and a letter from the mayor of London for his colleague in Amsterdam.

The DH.16 was a variant of the De Havilland DH.9 bomber and featured an enclosed cabin for the passengers. The pilot was still situated in an open cockpit though.

High quality poster. Reproduction of original handmade painting by Thijs Postma.
