Thijs Postma - Poster - SAAB 90A Scandia SAS Flying Over Sweden
EAN:
Enjoy this gouache of the first civil aircraft of Saab after the Second World War flying over Sweden.
The Saab 90A Scandia was developed in 1944 as it became apparent that the war was going to end. Saab until then only made military aircraft. Deliveries to SAS / Scandinavian Airlines started in 1950. The Scandia was quite similar to the successful DC-3. The main benefit was the tricycle gear of the Scandia, which makes boarding for passengers more comfortable.
The Scandia shown here with registration SE-BSL and named Folke Viking came into operation in 1954.
High quality poster. Reproduction of original handmade painting by Thijs Postma.
