See the Junkers Ju 290 A-3 of the 1./FAGr. 5 (Fernaufklärungsgruppe 5) flying over the Atlantic in the Autumn of 1943.

It served as a troop/cargo transporter and also as a maritime patrol aircraft.

The SB-QJ was eventually destroyed in april 1945, likely due to a bombardment at Rechlin, Germany.
