Have a plane on your wall that not many people know about! The Westland Whirlwind is attacking some ships in the Second World War on this gouache.

The Westland Whirlwind was ordered by the RAF in the late 1930s as they required a fighter with heavy armament to intercept bombers. With four Hispano 20mm cannons and excellent performance at medium and high altitudes, it met these requirements. However, as it only became operational by 1941 that need was filled by the Spitfires and Hurricanes. The Whirlwind was then used for ground and naval attacks.

High quality poster. Reproduction of original handmade painting by Thijs Postma.
