Your flying boat is waiting for you! The Dornier Do J Wal (German for ‘Whale’) was developed in the 1920s by Dornier Flugzeugwerke. It has 2 propellers, a push and pull propeller.
Here it is shown with the markings of the Dutch Naval Air Service (MLD). It was the most used aircraft in the Dutch East Indies (Indonesia). They were mainly used to reach the outposts of the Indonesian Archipel. During the Japanese attack in the Second World War, 6 Wal’s were stationed at the base of Morokrembang.
