The Gloster Meteor was the first operational British jet fighter. It was also the first jet fighter of the LSK (Dutch Air Force). The gouache depicts the Dutch demo team in action in their Gloster Meteor F.Mk.8. The Four Diamonds (“Ruiten Vier”) was the demonstration team of the Royal Netherlands Air Force (KLu) under the command of Major J. Wansink.
The Gloster Meteor F Mk.8 was used with a special colour scheme. The team operated from 1952-1955.
This original gouache comes in a wooden (brown) frame size 73cm x 53cm with glass and a passepartout.
