Thijs Postma - Poster - Lockheed L-1049H KLM PH-LKN
EAN:
Be amazed by the Super Constellation flying overhead! The PH-LKN operated by KLM was a Lockheed L-1049H.
The L-1049H was a version of the Super Constellation with a radar in the nose cone and additional fuel tanks at the tips of the wings.
The Super Constellation was a development of the L-749 Constellation. And also a successful response to the Douglas DC-6. It made its first flight in 1950. The first production ready L-1049 flew on July 14, 1951, operated by Eastern Air Lines on the New-York - Miami route.
One of the differences compared to the Constellation was the square windows of the Super Connie. Can you see them?
