You want a high speed gouache on your wall. This was the fastest subsonic airliner of the world, a Convair 990 Coronado.
The 990 was a development of the Convair 880 narrow-body jet airliner of 1959. The Convair 990 was extended and faster.
American Airlines asked Convair to design an aircraft for coast-to-coast flights, able to fly non-stop between New York and Los Angeles. However, when test flights began on January 24th, 1961 it did not life up to expectations.
High quality poster. Reproduction of original handmade painting by Thijs Postma.
