See this gouache painting of the Hawker Sea Hawk FB.50 passing by the aircraft carrier Karel Doorman. This aircraft has the registration 118 and was operated by the Dutch Naval Aviation Service (MLD).
It was the first and last jet fighter of the Dutch Navy. The Sea Hawk superseded the Sea Fury propeller fighters in 1957. It is one of the most beautiful jet fighters ever built. The top speed is 1,000 km/h and it has an armament of four cannons plus rockets and bombs.
